Santorini On My Mind...

I've been thinking about those options for getting to the city from the ship...none of them sound to good to me! I did some more research so that we can be prepared for the decision we need to make once we disembark.

Option #1 Ride the funiculars (cable cars)...I don't have a good picture of these, but from what I have read, if you don't like cable cars, you definitely won't like these!

Option # 2 Ride the donkeys...
I can't imagine this being a lot
of fun???

Option #3 Share the stairs...
with the donkeys! This doesn't
look as bad as I once thought...at least
the stairs are wide.

On Second Thought....
They may be wide enough, but they
seem to go on forever, and the incline
is steep!

Maybe NOT!!!!!

Venice Transport Information

If you are planning to spend time in Venice before the cruise, and you need to handle your own transfers from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the cruise ship, you might want to check out the website below. Many of us are using this service and have found them to be very reasonable.

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is unequivocally a Mediterranean city, not only because of its geographic location but also and above all because of its history, tradition and cultural influences. The documented history of the city dates back to the founding of a Roman colony on its soil in the second century B.C. Modern Barcelona experienced spectacular growth and economic revival at the onset of industrialization during the second half of the 19th century. The 1888 World's Fair became a symbol of the capacity for hard work and the international outlook projected by the city. Culture and the arts flourished.
Barcelona has a lot to offer visitors: the Ramblas with nice shops, La Sagrada Familia, the sea harbour with the statue of Columbus, the seaside at Barceloneta, the Picasso museum, the architecture, churches, fountains, an open air museum of a Spanish village, and many other points of interest.
